The open DAC company
CO₂Zero combines a proprietary, fully electrified Direct Air Capture core with an open, modular platform that integrates the best innovations from across the industry.
Below €200 per tonne today. Below €100 at scale.
Water-positive by design, our Oasis systems can operate where renewable energy is cheapest and use recovered water to help restore arid land.
Our mission
Deep emission reductions alone cannot deliver net zero; carbon removal is essential. Yet net zero only stops atmospheric CO₂ from rising.
CO₂Zero goes further: restoring concentrations towards 300 ppm—a world where humanity’s excess carbon has been removed. Our first defining milestone is to remove one gigaton of CO₂ by 2045.
To get there, we are building Direct Air Capture that can scale technically and economically: fully electrified, modular, continuously upgradeable and designed to run on the world’s lowest-cost renewable energy.
CO₂Zero is not just our name. It is our destination.
Our destination
Restore atmospheric CO₂ towards safer concentrations.
First defining milestone
Permanent CO₂ removal at meaningful scale.
Target year
The infrastructure is being built now.

The Oasis vision
Our units remove CO₂ and recover clean water from the air. That water supports vegetation, which captures additional CO₂ and produces biomass that can be converted into biochar for more permanent carbon storage.
As the ecosystem grows, it cools the site, increases humidity and suppresses dust, improving both DAC efficiency and solar-panel output. Each tonne removed therefore helps make the next easier and cheaper to remove.
Scaled across suitable arid regions north of the equator, this loop will create fertile landscapes, major food-producing regions and new communities where people displaced by climate change can rebuild their lives while helping reverse it.
Our technology
Traditional DAC systems depend on steam generation, substantial external equipment, and water-intensive regeneration, while being built around a single technology that becomes outdated as the industry advances.
We designed CO₂Zero differently. Our platform combines our proprietary electrified DAC architecture with a modular design capable of integrating better components as they emerge.
The result is a radically simpler system that reduces energy use, infrastructure requirements, capital costs, and technological lock-in.
Our proprietary reactor architecture brings electrification and process integration into the heart of the system.
This eliminates steam infrastructure and much of the external equipment conventional DAC depends on. Fewer process steps and components reduce capital and operating costs, enable faster deployment, and bring capture costs below €200/t today and below €100/t at scale.
Traditional DAC companies are limited by one technology and one internal R&D team. CO₂Zero turns the combined intelligence of a global innovation ecosystem into our R&D engine.
Our component-level modular platform can integrate advances such as next-generation sorbents throughout its lifetime, continuously improving performance and driving costs down.
Our regeneration process requires no external water and produces clean water instead, unlocking sun-rich regions where renewable electricity is cheapest.
The recovered water then supports land restoration, vegetation, and surrounding communities.
We are not waiting for a speculative scientific breakthrough.
CO₂Zero combines proven technologies in a radically simpler proprietary architecture, then continuously improves it by integrating the strongest de-risked innovations from around the world.
We are not betting on one breakthrough. We are building the platform that lets every breakthrough scale.

Why carbon removal
Deep and immediate emission reductions are essential, but they cannot achieve net zero alone. Unavoidable emissions from aviation, agriculture, shipping and industry require permanent carbon removal.
Why DAC is the strongest solution →
Yet net zero only stops atmospheric CO₂ from rising. It does not remove the excess carbon already released, which will continue warming the planet for generations. Restoring CO₂ towards safer levels requires net-negative emissions, permanently removing more carbon than humanity emits and increasing the need for CDR beyond net zero.
Emission reductions close the tap. Carbon removal mops up the water already on the floor. We need both.01
Reduce emissions
Prevent additional CO₂ wherever possible.
02
Reach net zero
Remove enough CO₂ to balance unavoidable emissions.
03
Go net negative
Remove humanity’s excess carbon and lower atmospheric concentrations.
Why Direct Air Capture
Direct Air Capture removes CO₂ directly from the atmosphere, regardless of where or when it was emitted. When the captured carbon is stored geologically or mineralized, it delivers a physical, durable and independently verifiable removal.
Unlike biological approaches, DAC does not compete for vast areas of fertile land, depend on biomass availability, or risk releasing captured carbon through fire, drought, disease, or land-use change. It delivers compact, durable, precisely measurable removal that can be replicated globally and located near abundant clean energy and permanent storage.
This makes DAC uniquely suited to neutralizing residual emissions, removing historical emissions and ultimately operating at gigaton scale.

DAC mineralization delivers million-year storage, while forests and soils risk releasing carbon again.
Every tonne captured, transported and stored can be directly quantified, monitored and independently verified.
DAC can be factory-built and replicated globally, scales independently of limited waste streams, and uses over 1,000 times less land than forests.
Because CO₂ is evenly distributed throughout the atmosphere, facilities can be built wherever renewable energy is cheapest.
DAC delivers measurable, additional removal, not estimates of what forests or soils might have done.
DAC removes CO₂ immediately, while forests and soils can take decades to deliver comparable removal.
Nature-based removal is also essential, but limited and vulnerable. DAC provides the permanent, measurable and scalable removal needed to close the remaining gap.
Captured CO₂ can also replace fossil carbon in materials and e-fuels, helping build a circular carbon economy. These applications create value and reduce fossil demand, while mineralisation remains the route through which DAC delivers true permanent carbon removal.
